Tina Kamakaris is a professor emeritus of Seneca College, Toronto, and is the talented author of Owl Publishing’s highly respected collection of legal educational publications.

In her writing, Professor Kamakaris draws from her legal office experience as a general practice legal assistant and from her legal teaching as well as her teaching in such related disciplines as effective technical writing and business English and communication.

Professor Kamakaris is an English literature major with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. Professor Kamakaris is also a certified teacher under the Education Act of the Province of Ontario, having graduated from the Toronto Teachers’ College, now the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto.

Professor Kamakaris is well known for her expertise in the arts and science of teaching and for her extraordinary ability to apply effective teaching and learning methods and principles to her legal writing. Teachers and students alike appreciate and distinguish the work of Professor Kamakaris as the most effective teaching and learning tool in legal classrooms in Ontario and across Canada.  Professor Kamakaris is the reputed doyenne of law clerk, legal assistant, legal office administration, and paralegal educators.

Professor Kamakaris is also the author of fiction novels under a nom de plume.

Jane Kamakaris is a working legal assistant/law clerk with over 20 years of experience.  She is an Honour Roll graduate of the Office Administration – Legal program at Humber College and the Law Clerk program of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario through George Brown College.  With this exceptional combination of legal education and legal experience, Jane brings unique insights to the student of Legal Office Procedures, including firsthand knowledge of the types of skills and professionalism that legal students require for success in their legal career.  Jane also provided valuable work to the previous edition of Legal Office Procedures.  At work, Jane admires new hires arriving on their first day of work with their Legal Office Procedures textbook tucked under their arm, striking a confident, ready-to-work image, to the delight of their new legal employer.

Louis Kamakaris is a working risk management adviser, quality control analyst, and real estate appraisal reviewer in the mortgage industry.  He has over 15 years of experience working in law-related departments of medium and large financial firms.  Louis is a graduate of the Law Clerk program at Seneca College.  Louis has a unique perspective on the Legal Office Procedures collection of works in that he has worked for Owl Publishing during the production of previous editions of these works as well as used the Legal Office Procedures text and Legal Office Procedures Workbook as prescribed books in the Law Clerk program at Seneca College during his law clerk studies at Seneca College.  Louis brings these exceptional firsthand insights to the Legal Office Procedures collection of works and to the student of Legal Office Procedures.
